Repositories/Folders

The first step in configuring Audit Trail Reporting is to add one or more repositories to the Repositories tab. Adding a repository will make the data in that repository available to Audit Trail Reporting. Note that you must also enable auditing in the Laserfiche Administration Console to make audit data available for reporting.

Alternately, you can configure Audit Trail Reporting to read data from an archived audit log directly. This is recommended if you want to run reports on data for a repository that is not currently online.

Note: You can only load audit data from an external folder if the audit logs have been rolled over or migrated. You can roll over audit logs in the Administration Console under Auditing.

To add a repository to Laserfiche Audit Trail

  1. Open the Laserfiche Audit Trail Configuration page and select the Repositories tab.
  2. Click the Add Repository.
  3. In the Add a repository dialog box, type the name of your Laserfiche server, your Laserfiche repository, and a Laserfiche username and password or select Use Windows Authentication. The user you specify must have the Retrieve Audit Data privilege.
  4. Select Use TLS to secure your connection.
  5. Note: LDAP users can enter their LDAP common username and profile name (CommonUserName@ProfileName), along with their LDAP password, to retrieve audit information from the Laserfiche Server.

  6. Click OK.

To add a folder containing archived audit logs to run reports on

  1. Open the Laserfiche Audit Trail Configuration page and select the Repositories tab.
  2. Click the Add Folder.
  3. In the Browse for Folder dialog box, navigate to the folder containing the audit logs and click OK.

Note: The audit log(s) inside the folder you browse to cannot be connected to a Laserfiche Server that is currently running.
