Automatically Logging Out a User

Inactive users can be automatically logged out of a Laserfiche repository. Doing so allows you to free up Laserfiche licenses so other users can connect to the Laserfiche Server and to maximize Laserfiche license use.

An inactive user is a Laserfiche user that is currently connected to a Laserfiche repository, but that has not performed any activity, such as a keyboard or mouse action in the Laserfiche web or Windows client, in a specified period of time. For example, simply scrolling in the folder browser or document viewer will reset the inactivity timer. The amount of time that needs to pass before a user is considered to be inactive is defined by a Laserfiche user that has been granted the Manage Repository Configuration privilege.

Once a user has exceeded the acceptable amount of time for inactivity, he or she will be prompted to continue the Laserfiche session. If the inactive user does not respond within 30 seconds, that user will be automatically logged out of the repository.

Note: This feature only affects the Laserfiche Windows client, the web client, and the desktop or Web Administration Console. Other client applications, such as Quick Fields, will not be affected.
