Calculating the Available Repository Named Users in Laserfiche Rio

In order to allocate Repository Named Users, you must allocate a block of Named User licenses for a particular Laserfiche Server in Laserfiche License Manager. This number is then stored in your Laserfiche Server license. (See the Laserfiche Rio Deployment Guide and the License Manager documentation for more information.)

Once you have allocated a block of Repository Named Users for the Server in License Manager, those licenses can only be allocated to Repository Named Users on that Server; they cannot be used to allocate Directory Named Users for the installation as a whole, or to allocate Repository Named Users on another Server, unless the Server license is re-generated to free those licenses again. In addition, only licenses allocated for this Server can be allocated to Repository Named Users on the Server.

To help you manage your reserved licenses, you can view the number of Full and Retrieval Repository Named User licenses on the Server in the Laserfiche Administration Console. This list includes both the number of licenses allocated to this Server in the License Manager, and the number of allocated licenses that are in use. You can then calculate the Repository Named User licenses available to be allocated by subtracting the number of licenses allocated to individual users from the total number allocated to this Laserfiche Server.

Note: If you allocated too few or too many Repository Named Users for your Server, you can adjust the numbers in License Manager and then generate a new Laserfiche Server license. See the Laserfiche Rio Deployment Guide and the License Manager documentation for more information.
