Laserfiche Windows Client Preinstallation Checklist (Minimum Specifications)

The appropriate preinstallation checklist should be completed before installing the Laserfiche Windows client. If you cannot complete the checklist because of hardware specifications, you should acquire new hardware prior to installation. Make sure that all applications listed in the "Software Requirements" checklist are installed and configured prior to installing Laserfiche, and make sure to perform all actions listed in the "Additional Requirements" checklist, to ensure a successful installation.

Note: Installing the Windows client requires administrative privileges on the desired computer. However, once the Windows client has been installed, all users can take advantage of it.

Note: The minimum specifications for the Laserfiche Administration Console and Laserfiche Snapshot are the same as for the Windows client.

Minimum Hardware Specifications

CPU: 700 MHz processor

With Laserfiche Scanning: 1 GHz processor

If performing OCR: 2.4 GHz processor

Memory: 512 MB RAM

With Laserfiche Scanning: 1 GB RAM

If performing OCR: 1 GB RAM

Operating system:

Windows 10

Windows Server 2016

Windows Server 2019

Windows 11

Windows Server 2022

Additional Requirements

Privileges: Administrative privileges on the source computer.
Laserfiche: A Laserfiche Server (version 11) must be hosted on a computer on the same network.
Firewall: Ensure that the necessary ports have been opened on your firewall software. See Firewalls for more information.
