Introduction to Windows Management Instrumentation

Windows Management Instrumentation, or WMI, is a set of tools and extensions that allow applications to share management information. Laserfiche uses WMI to perform certain tasks, such as repository creation and registration. It is not necessary for an administrator to know or use WMI to perform these tasks; Laserfiche provides user interfaces for all management tasks. However, if you wish, you can use WMI to script certain repository tasks.
