Record Properties
To access this dialog box, select a record, and then select View Record Properties from the Records drop-down in the main menu. Alternatively, right-click the record and select Record Properties.

Note: By default, the record will be assigned the cutoff instruction and retention schedule set on its parent record folder.
- Name: The name field, represented by the record icon , displays the name of the selected record. (To change the record's name, right-click on the record in the Contents Pane and select Rename from the context menu.)
- Filing Date: The filing date of the record. This value cannot be modified on the record level.
- Designate these records as permanent: Permanent records cannot follow a retention schedule with a Destruction final disposition.
- Cutoff Instruction: The cutoff instruction assigned to the record. These values cannot be modified on the record level.
- Name: Select a cutoff instruction from the drop-down men. Configure cutoff instructions from the Records Management node in the Laserfiche Administration Console.
- Type: The type of cutoff instruction that was selected from the Name drop-down menu.
- Cycle:Cycle definition are only associated with Time or Time+Event cutoff instructions.
- Interval: Interval, in months, of the cutoff instruction if it is Interval or Interval+Event type.
- Location: The location associated with the cutoff instruction if it is Disposition Action type.
- Linked Document Action: The records management action associated with the cutoff instruction if it is Disposition Action type.
- Document Relationship: The document relationship associated with the cutoff instruction if it is Disposition Action type.
- Retention Schedule: The retention schedule assigned to the record.
- Name: Select a retention schedule from the drop-down menu. Configure retention schedules from the Records Management node in the Laserfiche Administration Console.
- Final Disposition Type: The retention schedule's final disposition.
- Retain For: The amount of time the records must be retained.
- Final Disposition Location: The archival location if the retention schedule has an Accession final disposition.
- Keep Metadata: If the retention schedule will retain metadata after final disposition.
- Alt. Retention Event: Name of the event that will trigger an alternate retention schedule, if configured in the Laserfiche Administration Console.
- Alt. Ret. Schedule: Name of the alternate retention schedule.
- Vital Records: If the record is vital records.
This value cannot be modified on the record level.
- Designate records within this collection as vital: Select this checkbox if the record folder contains records that should be classified as vital. Then select one of the following review periods:
- Review Cycle: Select the scheduled that corresponds to the review cycle necessary for this vital record.
- Review Interval: Define an interval for when the vital record(s) must be reviewed, in days or months.
- Disposition Authority: Type in the name of the disposition authority governing the record folder.
