Special Notes on the Migration

Recycle Bin

Toc ID 2 is reserved for the Recycle Bin in Laserfiche 11. If your source database contains a row in the Toc table with Toc ID 2, the migration utility will automatically change the value of the migrated ID to a valid number at the end of the Toc table.

By default, the Recycle Bin is disabled in a migrated repository. You can use the Laserfiche Administration Console to enable the Recycle Bin for your repository.

EVERYONE

EVERYONE is no longer a Laserfiche group. Laserfiche now uses the Windows security group with SID S-1-1-0 as the EVERYONE group. This EVERYONE group is a standard Windows security group that is the same across all Windows operating systems. The migration utility will automatically associate any objects that were associated with Trustee ID 1 with the S-1-1-0 SID.

EVERYONE is automatically granted the Bypass Filter Expressions privilege.

Expansion Databases

Laserfiche 11 does not use expansion databases. However, if your Laserfiche 7 repository has expansion databases, the migration utility will migrate the existing expansion databases. Be aware that Laserfiche 11 will not need to write new data to the expansion database.

User-Specific Registry Settings

Note: When updating from Laserfiche 7 to Laserfiche 11, any user-specific settings that were stored in the registry will be copied to the user's attributes in Laserfiche, and then removed from the registry to avoid any future potential conflicts. See the trustee attributes section for more information. Registry information that is machine-specific rather than user-specific (such as the list of attached repositories) will not be copied to user attributes, as it may not be relevant for any given user on all computers.
