What's New in the Laserfiche 10.4 App?
Laserfiche Mobile Configuration
Manage Forms Access
On the Laserfiche Mobile Configuration Page, administrators can explicitly deny or allow specific Windows or repository users access to a Forms server from the Laserfiche app.
Laserfiche Directory Server
You can now allow or deny specific Laserfiche Directory Server users mobile access to the repository and Forms server.
App Logging
Administrators can enable app logging on the Laserfiche Mobile Configuration page. This lets users upload app logs to the Laserfiche Mobile server for troubleshooting. Once enabled, users will see the option in the Laserfiche app's settings.
Esri ArcGIS
If your organization uses Esri ArcGIS, your administrator can configure Esri maps on the Laserfiche Mobile Configuration page so users can view their Esri maps and layers within the Laserfiche app to view and search for documents.
Mobile Device Management (MDM)/Mobile Application Management (MAM)
New app settings can be configured and distributed to users' devices:
- Upload using Wi-Fi only: Requires users to only upload when using Wi-Fi. Users cannot disable this option.
- Use Document mode: Requires users to crop documents using Document mode when taking a picture to upload to the repository. Users cannot disable this option.
- Upload as grayscale:Requires users to upload documents and form attachments as grayscale images. Users cannot disable this option.
Laserfiche App
Forms
- The forms tasks sorting options in the mobile phone view of Laserfiche Forms are now supported in the Laserfiche app.
- Laserfiche Forms allows users to create email notifications to notify participants when they are assigned a user task. Within the email, users can click a specific mobile URL to open their task in the Laserfiche app.
- Laserfiche Forms allows users to perform actions on one or more tasks without opening them. This feature is now supported in the Laserfiche app.
Maps
- When searching for documents by location in the main Maps view, typing an address, establishment, or specific location in the Current location box populates location suggestions to choose from.
- Documents that contain a location description can be found in Maps using a new Document Location search.
Esri ArcGIS Integration
Esri ArcGIS is a geographic information system for working with maps and geographic information. Using different GIS maps and layers can help tell stories, view sales results by region, track and manage the status of operations, and more. If an organization uses Esri ArcGIS, the administrator can configure Esri maps so users can view their maps and layers within the Laserfiche app to view and search for documents. All existing Laserfiche geolocation features are also supported with Esri maps.
Sign-In
Users can now use Fingerprint ID to sign in to the Laserfiche app on Android devices. Biometric authentication is also available for offline content when configured on the device.
Sync
- Offline documents and folders will now be automatically synced to their online counterparts.
- Offline documents can now be automatically synced in time intervals.
Recycle Bin
When deleting documents, pages, electronic files, or folders, the items can now be sent to a recycle bin instead of immediately deleted.
Camera Improvement
Laserfiche's in-app camera on Android devices has been improved and takes better quality pictures.
App Usage Analytics
The Laserfiche app now tracks user actions (i.e., signing in, taking a picture, searching, modifying metadata, etc.) and crash logs to help with troubleshooting. You can manage this option in the app's settings.
App Logging
A new option in the Laserfiche app's settings lets users upload app logs to the Laserfiche Mobile Server for troubleshooting.
