Private and Protected Annotations

Private annotations are only visible by its creator. This is useful for creating personal notes. Protected annotations can only be modified by its creator or the document owner.

To mark an annotation as private

1. Right-click the annotation, and select Properties.
2. Click the Metadata tab.
3. Select the checkbox next to Annotation will only be visible to its creator.

To mark an annotation as protected

1. Right-click the annotation and select Properties.
2. Click the Metadata tab.
3. Select the checkbox next to Annotation may only be modified by its creator or the document owner.

Note: The creator or document owner are the only users who can mark an annotation protected.
