Creating Documents From Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office files (including Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides, and Outlook message files) can be stored in a Laserfiche repository either by importing them within the Client, or using the Office Integration to save them directly to your repository from within Office. You can specify the repository and destination folder to store the file in, as well as the properties for the file, and you can put the document under version control so that changes will be saved as new versions. You can also choose to check out the file and keep a lock on it as you continue to edit.

Email messages from Microsoft Outlook are handled somewhat differently than files from other Office applications. Email messages and attachments can only be stored from Outlook and cannot be further modified, but you can choose how the import process will handle attachments and other Outlook-specific information. Files stored from other Office applications can be checked out, further edited, and saved again once they have been initially saved.
