Editing Office Documents in the Web Client Document Viewer

To use Laserfiche Integration with Office 365:

Follow these instructions to edit Office documents in the Laserfiche web client document viewer.

  1. Go to your repository and upload a new Word, Excel or PowerPoint Document or select one of the existing documents in your repository.
  2. Click on the document title to open the document preview screen.
  3. Click the Edit With button in the top right. To keep working within the Laserfiche web client, choose the Microsoft Word Online option. This will redirect you to Microsoft's hosted log-in page for Office 365.
  4. Note: Choosing Microsoft Word will prompt you to open the Laserfiche Plugin Connector, which will download the file locally to edit on your desktop.

  5. Complete signing into Microsoft. After singing in, you will be redirected to the Laserfiche Repository site with the document open through the Office Online and available for editing. Once you sign-in to Microsoft Office you will no longer be prompted to sign-in for future sessions.
  6. Another user may make edits to the document at the same time as you by logging in to their Laserfiche account with the Microsoft Office 365 integration. You and other users will be able to see each others' cursors at the site at which they are currently editing the document. The changes made by all users will be consistently saved on the document.
