Configuring Briefcase Settings

Before exporting documents and folders as a briefcase, you can configure settings that will affect the content to be included, scope, and if redactions will be permanently applied to all exported images and text.

Note: The current briefcase configuration will only affect how new briefcases will be created. Briefcases that have already been created will not be affected by changes made to these settings.

To configure briefcase settings

  1. From the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click Export, and click Briefcase.
  3. Review the content that will be exported with your documents. Select or clear the checkboxes of items you want included or not included. You can choose to include any combination of images, electronic documents, text files, annotations, shortcuts, records management data, version histories, and document signatures.
  4. Select or clear the Make image redactionspermanent in the briefcase checkbox to choose if the image and text redactions will be branded onto exported documents.

Note: This option ensures redacted information will be inaccessible, even to users with the See Through Redactions right.

  5. Determine the scope of what will be included in the briefcase by doing one of the following:
  6. Click OK to save your changes.

Note: You can also configure briefcase settings for a particular briefcase during the export process by clicking Options in the Export Briefcase dialog box.
