Interval+Event Cutoff Instruction
Records affected by an Interval+Event cutoff instruction become eligible for
cutoff based on:
- The passing of a set number (interval) of months
- The occurrence of one or more event dates
The record becomes eligible for cutoff based on both the critical event and the interval (defined in the cutoff instructions in the Laserfiche Administration Console). If the cutoff instruction is set to require all events, the critical event is the final event by date; if the cutoff instruction requires any event, the critical event is the first event. After the critical event date occurs, the specified interval of months begins counting down. The record will be eligible for cutoff when the interval ends.
Example: A school has a record series containing record folders for students at the school. The record folders should be eligible for cutoff six months after the student's graduation. The cutoff instruction contains both the event of the student's graduation and the interval of 6 months. When the student's graduation date occurs, the event is triggered and the interval begins; when six months have passed (after the date of graduation), the record folder can be cutoff.
Note: Users assigned the Close/Reopen Folder entry access right can reopen a closed record folder and reset or unset an event date. Users assigned the Records Management privilege can uncutoff a record folder that has been cutoff. This will clear the date set for the critical event. Learn about records management security
