Any Field Search

The Any Field search enables users to search for any field value without specifying a field.

For example, a user searches for the field value "2012." This will return documents with an address field containing "2012 Black Maple St" or documents with a name field containing "Employment Records 2012." You can search for fields in the following ways:

Note: When searching for Date or Date/Time field values, ensure your search terms use the same date and time formats as the metadata fields. For example, if the field uses the 12-hour time format, the time included in your search should follow the form HH:MM:SS TT, where TT is AM or PM. If the field uses the 24-hour time format, the time included in your search should follow the form HH:MM:SS.

Note: To search for a Date or Date/Time field value with the Any Field search, you must include the entire date and/or time in your search. You cannot use the contains, begins with, or ends with options to search for partial dates. For example, selecting ends with and searching for "2012" will not return the date 4/27/2012.
