Installing Audit Trail
The Laserfiche Audit Trail installation package will install Audit Trail on your computer.
Laserfiche Audit Trail requires neither a license file nor an activation key to be installed. You will not be prompted to provide a license or to activate when you install Audit Trail.
To install Audit Trail
- Open the installation package and run Autorun.exe from the root folder.
- In the Language Selection step, select how you want the installation to be displayed. This language setting only affects the installer, not the product itself.
- Click the Additional Components link.
- Click the Laserfiche Audit Trail Installation link. The Laserfiche Audit Trail installation will launch.
Note: If a prior version of the Laserfiche Audit Trail is currently installed, the installation process will automatically update it in place.
- If Windows Installer is not installed, you will be prompted to install it. Follow the Windows installation instructions to complete the installation. When the installation is complete, you will need to restart your computer and then re-launch the Laserfiche Audit Trail installation.
- In the Welcome step, click Next to continue.
- If a previous version of Audit Trail is installed, the Existing Installations step will be displayed. It will list the version you already have installed, which will be upgraded as part of the installation.
- In the End-User License Agreement step, read the license agreement. Accept it by selecting the I accept the terms in the License Agreement option. Click Next to continue.
- In the Custom Setup step, ensure that Laserfiche Audit Trail is selected.
Note: Installing Laserfiche Full-Text Search and Indexing Service is recommended but optional in this installation.
- In the Install directory option, optionally select the location to install the software. Click Next to continue.
- In the SSL Certificate Options step, specify how you want to obtain a certificate for SSL configuration:
- To obtain a certificate from the certificate store, select Use a certificate from the certificate store and then select the certificate you want to use.
- To import a certificate, select Import certificate from a PFX file, and then specify the path to the certificate and its password.
- To skip this step and configure SSL later, select Bypass this step, I'll configure this later. (Note that SSL is required for Audit Trail Chart Component).
- In the Laserfiche Service Settings step, specify what user account the Audit Trail service will use.
- Optional: Select the Create Windows Firewall exception option for the installation to create a Windows Firewall exception for the ports used by Laserfiche Audit Trail (if you do not do this, you will need to configure the ports manually).
- In the Ready to Install step, click Install to begin the installation process.
- In the Prerequisites step, the installation will detect whether you have the required minimum specifications, including the appropriate configuration of IIS. Some of these prerequisites must be manually installed, and others can be automatically installed by the installation. Click Run to proceed.
- If a component is not installed or configured and it cannot be automatically installed, it will be listed with the text "Not detected. Please install."
- If a component is not installed or configured and it can be installed or configured automatically, the installation will proceed. This may include .NET Framework 4.8.
- When the prerequisite installations (if any) have completed, click Next to continue.
- The installation process will run, displaying the status of the installation.
Note: Various command prompt windows may open during the process; this is normal. They will be closed automatically.
- When the installation is complete, the Completing the Laserfiche Audit Trail Setup step will display. You can select View the Readme file option to display the readme after the installation has completed. You can select the Launch Laserfiche Audit Trail Configuration option to open and configure Audit Trail.
