Managing Groups
Laserfiche Directory Server groups are a convenient way to grant Laserfiche access to multiple users in an organized way.
In the Accounts tab, select Groups to create, view, or edit groups.
- Click + Groups to create a group in Directory Server.
- Select a group from the list to view additional information about the group.
- In the Members tab, view existing members, delete members, or add new members.
- In the Profile tab, view or modify the group's Name, Organization, or Supervisor.
- To delete a group, click Delete in the bottom right corner.
Configuring Group Membership
Note: License assignment is handled separately. Please see the Registering Users page for more information.
Add groups and group members with Laserfiche Directory Server.
- In Laserfiche Directory Server, select your licensing site.
- Click the Accounts tab.
- Click the Groups tab.
- Click an existing group name in the Group column or click +Groups to create a new group.
- In the left pane, select the group of interest.
- In the right pane, to add new users or groups, click the + Add button as shown in the image below.
- In the context menu, choose the group type you would like to create: Laserfiche Trustee, Directory Group, or SAML Group.
Add a Laserfiche Trustee
This section covers how to add Laserfiche Trustees in a Group.
- Type the name of an account or group present in Laserfiche Directory Server or click the Search button.
Note: By default, Service Users are excluded. To change this, use the drop-down menu.
- In the Search Results, all users or groups will be displayed.
- Click the name of the user or group you want to add, one at a time. The clicked users and groups will move down to the Selected trustees section.
- Once all users or groups have been selected, click OK.
Add a Directory Group
When adding a directory group or SAML group, each member of that group will inherit membership to the Laserfiche Directory Server group.
- Select an Identity Provider.
- Type a letter to search for group names starting with that letter. Click Search.
- In the Search Results, all group names will be displayed.
- Click the name of the group you want to add, one at a time. The clicked groups will move down to the Added Groups section.
- Once all groups have been selected, click OK.
Note: If you are using Active Directory users, you can configure Directory Server to automatically grant users implicit membership a Directory Server group without adding them individually. Create an Active Directory Group Sync rule for a Directory Group and add the same Directory Group to your group.
Add a SAML Group
This section covers how to add a SAML group to a Laserfiche Directory Server group.
- In the Add SAML Group Member dialog box, use the drop-down menu to select your SAML Identity Provider.
- Type the unique attribute for the SAML group.
- After the unique attribute has been added, click OK.
