Supported Languages

The Laserfiche Server, Windows client, client components, and Server utilities support eight languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Portuguese - Brazilian, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional). How you select your language depends on the product.

  • The Laserfiche Server installs all eight languages. The Laserfiche Server language controls Server messages such as error codes and messages written to the Event Viewer, and the language that will be displayed is the language set on the Server machine's operating system.

  • By default, the Windows client installs English and whatever language you ran the installation in; additional languages are supported in additional language packs. If you have a language pack installed, you will be able to choose that language from the Choose Language dialog of the Windows client's View menu.

  • The language used by Laserfiche Scanning, Snapshot, and the Administration Console matches the language chosen in the Windows client.

  • Quick Fields installs all available languages allowing you to select one from the Choose Language dialog in the View menu.

Note: Some dialogs used by the Windows client are Windows standard dialogs. For example, when printing a document, the printer's settings dialog is provided by Windows and your printer drivers, not by Laserfiche. These dialogs will always be presented in the Windows client workstation's operating system language, regardless of the Laserfiche installation used.

Hijri Dates

If your Windows client workstation's operating system has calendar preferences set to use the Hijri calendar, it will display Hijri dates and display Hijri date values in the Date and Date/Time fields. To use Hijri dates, in general you simply need to ensure that your computer's regional settings have the calendar type you want to use set (whether it is the Kuwaiti algorithm or the Umm al-Qura algorithm), and Laserfiche will use that calendar type.

Laserfiche Scanning will also respect your computer's regional settings for date and date/time field values. However, to enable Hijri dates for tokens in other field types, you will need to turn on that option. In Laserfiche Scanning, open the Options menu, select the General node, and click the International button to enable Hijri date tokens for non-date/time fields.
