9008: General database error

Summary

When attempting to execute a SQL command, you may receive the following error:

General database error. [9008]

You may also receive error code 9008 with the following accompanying message:

Error executing SQL command.

Causes

This is a generic error that is returned whenever Laserfiche Server is unsuccessful on performing an action on the SQL server.

• Ensure the Laserfiche Server service is logged in using a Windows account that can access the DBMS and has security permissions to write to the hard disk.
• If using MSDE or SQL Server Express, ensure all expansion databases are attached.
• Update your Oracle installation to release 9.2.0.6 or later.
