Running a Report

Once you have configured your Laserfiche Audit Trail Reporting installation, you can begin running reports.

For repository content, there are two ways to run an audit report: running a report on a specific entry from within the client, or running a report on any entry or group of entries from Audit Trail Reporting.

Running a report on individual entries from within the client allows you to easily report on specific documents or folders. For more information, see Enabling Audit Reporting from the Windows or Web Client and Running an Audit Report from the Windows or Web Client.

To run a report from Audit Trail Reporting, navigate to the following web address: http://ServerName/AuditTrail/, where ServerName is the name of the computer on which you installed Audit Trail Reporting. If you are running IIS on a nonstandard port, you will need to insert :PortNumber after the server name. A link is provided in the Audit Trail folder of the Start menu of the computer on which you installed Audit Trail.

Note: To run a report, you can also click Run a report from the Audit Trail Configuration Page.

When you open Laserfiche Audit Trail Reporting and select a repository or Forms server from the Available Sources drop-down, you will see a list of saved reports. From here, you can open a saved report or create a new report.

Note: Only repositories and Forms servers you have permission to run reports on will be listed in the Available Sources drop-down.

Note: An error message next to Available Sources stating "You do not have permission to run reports on any audit data" indicates that the Windows or LDAP user you are currently logged into the machine as (listed under the error message) does not have permission to run audit reports.

You can click Laserfiche Audit Trail in the upper left-hand corner at any time to return to the main Audit Trail Reporting page without saving your changes. If you have appropriate permissions, you can also click Configuration to modify your reporting configuration.
