Importing Images
Laserfiche can store and open any type of image, but to view an image in the document viewer, it needs to be converted to TIFF image pages when it's imported. The following types of image file formats can be imported as image pages:
- TIFF (Group III, Group IV, Uncompressed, and LZW)
- PCX (PC Paintbrush)
- BMP (Windows bitmap; compressed and uncompressed)
- JPEG
In addition to these types of files, you can specify other image file formats to be viewable in the document viewer. For more information, see Determining How Files are Stored and Viewed.
The default name for documents created by importing images depends on whether you are creating single or multiple page documents.
- Single page: The name will match the original file name of the image imported into Laserfiche.
- Multiple pages: The new file name will be the name of the image file that occurs first alphabetically.
