Custom Keyboard Shortcuts
Note: If a keyboard shortcut is already assigned to a function in the Laserfiche Windows client, that function will take precedence over the custom-assigned function, and so those key combination should not be used as custom keyboard shortcuts. Review the list of keyboard shortcuts for key combinations that should not be used as custom keyboard shortcuts.
To create custom keyboard shortcuts
- Navigate to the document viewer or folder browser, depending on which menu items you want to create keyboard shortcuts for.
- Open the Customize dialog box either from the Toolbars node of the Options dialog box or by right-clicking a toolbar and selecting Customize.
- In the Customize dialog box, select the Keyboard tab.
- From the Category drop-down menu, select the category of the menu item that you want to specify a keyboard shortcut for.
- Select a menu item or toolbar button from the Commands list.
Tip: The Description text box at the bottom of the dialog box provides a summary of each commands's function.
- The Key assignments box will show you any existing keyboard shortcuts for the selected command.
- Click in the text box under Press new shortcut key, and use your keyboard to hold down the key sequence that you want to use as a keyboard shortcut.
-
Click Assign to save the keyboard shortcut you typed.
Note: If you try to assign a key sequence that has already been assigned, a warning will ask you to verify the change so you do not accidentally override an existing keyboard shortcut.
Note: You can repeat steps 7 and 8 to assign multiple keyboard shortcuts to the same command.
- Optional: You can remove a keyboard shortcut from a command by selecting it in the Key assignments box and clicking the Remove button.
- Optional: You can reset all the keyboard shortcuts, which removes any custom shortcuts you entered and restores the Laserfiche default shortcuts, by clicking Reset All.
- Click Close.
