Exporting Watermarked Images

Watermarks are assigned to images in three different ways in Laserfiche. One way is through tag watermarks, which are configured by an administrator on a per tag basis. In this case, if a tag that has a watermark associated with it has been applied to a document, the watermark will be included any time a user exports that document, until the tag is otherwise removed. If multiple tag watermarks are assigned to a document, all will be included when the document is exported.

Note: If a tag has a watermark associated with it, you will see the watermark on the image when you open the document in the document viewer.

Assign watermarks through groups

Another way to assign watermarks is through groups of users. In this case, a user can export documents with watermarks if an administrator has configured a watermark for the user’s group. If you belong to a group with multiple watermarks and/or multiple groups with watermarks, you can choose which watermark you want to include on the document when you export it.

Keep in mind the following:

Optional watermarks

The last way is using optional watermarks, which can only be applied to a document if no tag or group watermarks are present. Optional watermarks are configured individually by each user in the Watermark section under the Export node of the Options dialog box. Users can create and store multiple different optional watermark configurations to be used at any time; however, Laserfiche will include only the currently selected watermark during export.

Keep in mind the following:

To export a document with a watermark

  1. If you are a member of more than one group that has a watermark configured, the Select Watermark option will be displayed.

Note: If only one or fewer watermarks have been defined for your group, the Select Watermark dialog box will not appear.

Note: The Select Watermark dialog box does not include any tag watermarks that will automatically be included on the document.

  2. Select one of the available watermarks using its checkbox.
  3. Click OK.
  4. In the Export Images dialog box, select the appropriate options and click Save.

Note: Users with supervisor status or who do not belong to a watermark enabled group will print documents without watermarks.
