LFE Shortcuts in the Laserfiche Windows client
An .lfe shortcut is a shortcut from Windows to a particular document or folder in Laserfiche. These .lfe shortcut files allow you to quickly jump to a specific part of your repository or to send a link to a specific document or folder to someone else.
Users can create .lfe shortcuts directly from within Windows without needing to perform any manual customizations. See Shortcuts to Information in Laserfiche for more information. However, in some cases, you may want to modify the .lfe file. For example, you can alter a shortcut to point directly to a particular page of a document. When a user opens that .lfe shortcut, they will be taken to that specific page in the document. You can also create a shortcut to open a particular set of search results. If you always begin your work in Laserfiche by searching for documents with a particular status field, you can easily create a shortcut that will open directly to that search.
To create a custom .lfe shortcut, you will need to start by creating a file with the correct XML format. See Basic Format for instructions and examples. You can then customize it by adding additional parameters. See Parameters for .lfe Shortcuts for more information, and Sample Usage for examples.
