Starting a Process on a Computer

Use Start Process to see a list of all published processes that you can start. With the Process administrator or Business Manager role, you can start hidden processes from the Manage page or the process designer.

You can configure the way the processes are displayed using the options on the top right. The List View option lists many processes at one time. The Grid View option displays fewer processes, but it lets you view a thumbnail of the form you are starting.

Click the star to pin a process to the top of the list.

To start a process, click its Start button.

  • Processes that start with a form submission open the form in another tab. When you submit the form, the process begins.
  • Processes without starting forms show a confirmation prompt. Click Start to run the process.

To find a form or process quickly, use the search at the top of the list.

Starting a Process in the Laserfiche Forms App

To start a process using the Laserfiche Forms app:

  1. From the Inbox, tap Start Process. If you're not in the Inbox, tap the menu button.

  2. Find a form by tapping the search button in the top right.
    • To change how forms are ordered, use the Process Name drop-down to sort them in ascending or descending order.
    • Pin a form to the top of the list by tapping the star next to its name. Starred forms are shared between your browser and the app.
  3. Tap the desired form, fill it out appropriately, and submit it. If a form field has been configured to accept barcode scans in Laserfiche Forms, you will see a barcode button to the right of the field. Tap the barcode button, scan the barcode, and the field will be automatically populated with the barcode value. A lookup rule configured on a barcode field will run when the value is populated and automatically fill in the fields associated with that lookup rule.
