Upgrading from Previous Versions of Laserfiche Import Agent

You can install the latest version Import Agent over your existing Import Agent installations (versions 9 and higher).

Consider the following:

• Import Agent automatically migrates registry key profiles from previous versions of Import Agent to XML profiles. Editing the old registry key profiles after upgrading will not have any effect.
• The latest version of Import Agent will not recognize profiles created by Import Agent version 7 or earlier. To continue monitoring the same directories, create new profiles after installing the latest version of the software.
• Password storage has been enhanced in Import Agent 11 and higher. After migrating to version the latest version, if you then copy a profile to another machine where the latest version of Import Agent is installed, the password will be marked as invalid. You must edit the profile to update the password.
• For migrated profiles with the Import monochrome images option selected, they will be automatically updated to use the Black and white option. Imported PDF images will not be compressed.
• For migrated profiles with the Import monochrome option is cleared, the profiles will be updated to use the Standard color option. The image quality will be determined by the [Settings]StandardColorDocument trustee attribute. You can modify this attribute to get the same image quality as before. In Import Agent versions 10.3 and 10.4 compression was determined by the [Settings]GeneratePagesRecompressImages attribute, and image quality was determined by the [Settings]ImportJPEGCompressionLevel attribute.
• Profiles with a schema version of 1.0 are backed up in the following locations after migration:
• Import Agent: C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\ImportAgent\Profiles\Backup
• Email Archive: C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\EmailArchiveService\Profiles\Backup
