Data Field Editor

The Data Field Editor, accessed from the Assign Field Values activity, allows you to set static values for data fields in hexadecimal. In the Laserfiche client applications, data fields are typically used by integrators to store binary data. Workflow modifies the binary information in data fields byte by byte; therefore, to assign a field value to a data field, you must define the hexadecimal value of each byte you want to configure.

Note: In hexadecimal, numbers zero through nine represent 0-9, and letters A-F represent 10 to 15.

To configure data field values

  1. Add a data field to the Edit Field Values dialog box. Learn about adding fields to the Assign Field Values activity.
  2. Once the field has been added, you can modify its information by clicking Edit under Field Value.
  3. The Data Field Editor will open. Configure values by selecting each cell you want to supply data for and typing in the appropriate hexadecimal number.
  4. Click OK to save your changes. The Value column in the Edit Field Values dialog box, as well as the field listed in the Field Values property box, will reflect your changes.

Note: Bytes that are not configured will default to 00.

  5. Click OK in the Edit Field Values dialog box to save your changes and return to the Designer Pane.
