Business Process Options

The Business Process Options dialog box allows you to configure business process defaults and report information that will be available for each instance of the business process. ClosedShow me this dialog box. This dialog box is accessed by clicking the More Options link in the Business Process Options property box.

  • Instance Name
    • Use the Workflow Name as the business process instance name: By default, the business process instance name will be the Workflow Name with an appended timestamp and status.

Example: If a business process named "Incoming Applications" was started at noon on November 1, 2012 and is completed, its instance name would be: Incoming Applications - 11-1-2012 12:00:00 AM (completed).

    • Use the following name: Type a name and/or click the Token button (right arrow) to use tokens.
    • Example: Byron want to know who initiates his business process, so he changes the instance name to include the Initiator Token, %(Initiator). This way, when the business process runs, the instance name will contain the name of the user who started the business process. Byron can use this information to search for business processes based on their initiator in the Laserfiche client applications.

  • Statuses

Clear the checkbox next to each item to exclude it from affecting your business process.

Note: The statuses configured for completed and terminated business process will be the final statuses for the workflow (even if the workflow ends with an Update Business Process activity that specifies a different status).

    • When the business process starts, update its status to: Type a status that will be used for each instance of this business process when the business process instance first begins to run. Click the Token button (right arrow) to use tokens.
    • If the business process completes successfully, update its status to: Type a status update that will be used for each successfully completed instance of this business process. This status will take the place any status set in the business process definition. Click the Token button (right arrow) to use tokens.
    • If the business process is terminated, update its status to: Configure a status update that will be used for any terminated or failed instances of this business process. This status will take the place any status set in the business process definition. Click the Token button (right arrow) to use tokens.
  • Performance (Advanced):
    • Do not keep step information history in Laserfiche client applications: This option lets you select whether step events will be recorded in the Business Process Instance Details.
    • Do not keep status history in Laserfiche client applications: Select whether to record each time the business process instance status changes. This will be recorded in the Business Process Instance Details.
    • Delete the business process instance (from Laserfiche client applications) when it completes: If this option is selected, the Business Process Details, in the Laserfiche Client and Web Access, will only be available while the business process instance is active. When the business process completes, the Business Process Details will be cleared.
