The Laserfiche Cloud May 2026 release includes new AI features, updates to desktop applications, and more.

AI Agents

Laserfiche AI Agents introduce a new way to automate document management tasks using natural language, eliminating the need to build workflows for bulk or one-off actions. Users can move, rename, and organize documents by simply describing what they want to accomplish. Agents analyze the request, generate a detailed preview of planned actions, and require user approval before making changes, ensuring full control and accuracy. They can also handle multi-step and multi-action requests, making it easy to perform complex updates across large sets of documents.

AI Agents are integrated into Smart Chat, where users can switch from Ask mode to Agent mode to take action on selected documents from folders, search results, or collections. All actions respect existing user permissions and are fully audited for traceability and compliance. Common use cases include organizing documents into folders, standardizing file names, and creating shortcuts, providing a fast, flexible, and secure way to manage content at scale.

Collections

Collections provide a convenient way for users to group and access related documents, regardless of where they are stored in the repository. Because collections are specific to individual users and don't modify the existing folder structure, they allow users to organize documents in whatever way makes sense to them without affecting other users. Documents can be added to existing collections at any time, making it simple to keep project- or topic-based content organized. Collections are prominently displayed at the top of the left pane, allowing for quick access.

Forms App

The new Laserfiche Forms app is a dedicated mobile app that lets users interact with Laserfiche Forms directly on their iOS devices. With this app, users can access their Forms inbox, complete assigned tasks, find and fill out forms, submit new form processes, and attach images from their mobile device.

Office Integration

This release also enhances the Office integration with a simplified check-in/check-out experience. Checking documents back into your repository is now performed in the new tray app, or by clicking on the Windows notification that appears when you close your document. Documents that have been checked out automatically using "Edit in Desktop" will be checked back in automatically after the document is closed.

Updates to Desktop Applications

New OCR languages are available: Vietnamese, Hebrew, Arabic, and Thai. Arabic and Thai no longer requires separate licensing.

Import Agent

Import Agent better supports on-time or ad-hoc imports with the "On Demand" scheduling option for profiles. Users can now manually start any profile to run it immediately. Other enhancements include file exclusion filters to easily exclude temp files and a new Windows file owner token. Import Agent now also makes it easier to monitor for issues with configurable email notifications for import failures such as invalid user credentials.

Quick Fields

Quick Fields has a refreshed look-and-feel, for a clean, modern experience.

Scanning

Scanning has been updated to address various issues.
