Password Policy Overview

Password authentication allows users to log in to a Laserfiche repository using a user name and password. If the Windows authentication check box is not selected when a user tries to open a repository, Laserfiche will prompt for the name of a Laserfiche user account and the corresponding password.

To take advantage of password authentication, specify a Laserfiche user account that is allowed to authenticate with a password. Alternately, if you are using an LDAP account to authenticate, type the common name of the LDAP user you want to sign in as, followed by the at (@) symbol and the Server Profile name for the LDAP server the user belongs to (e.g., "John Smith@MyCompany").
