OCR and Text Extraction Information Dialog Box

The OCR and Text Extraction Information dialog box provides information about OCR and the retrieval of text from electronic files. It also provides a list of the file types from which text can be retrieved on the current computer.

Note: Text can only retrieved from certain types of files. The file must contain text. For instance, an .mp3 file contains no text, and therefore will not have meaningful text extraction results. If a document is an electronic document, you must also have an appropriate iFilter to extract text from it.
