The Folder Pane facilitates navigation and provides a clear, hierarchical representation of how your folders have been organized. This pane also provides a visual representation of where you are in the repository and allows you to browse through your folders and the recycle bin. The items inside the folder selected in this pane are displayed in the Contents Pane.
If templates in your repository have been assigned colors, and those templates are assigned to folders, then the folders will be displayed in those colors. This allows you to color-code your documents and folders. You can tell at a glance that a particular folder has been assigned a template, and therefore that the folder contains documents of a particular type or belongs to a particular department.
Note: The Folder Pane and the Search Pane are always displayed to the left of the Contents Pane.
Folders can be expanded or collapsed, so the Folder Pane will display or hide the contents of the folder.
To browse folders in the Folder Pane
- To view the contents of a folder, select it.
- To display or expand a folder's contents in the Folder Pane, double-click it, click the plus sign to the left of the folder, or select it and press the right arrow key.
- To hide or collapse a folder's contents in the Folder Pane, double-click it, click the minus sign to the left of the folder, or select it and press the left arrow key.
