Annotations
This section covers attributes affecting the properties of annotations and the appearance of the annotation pane.

General Annotation Settings
[Settings]DefaultAnnotationState
Determines whether new annotations are normal, protected, or private by default.
Valid values:
- Integers representing an enumerated type with a flags attribute. 0 = Normal, 1 = Private, 2 = Protected.
Default value: 0
[Options]PersistAnnotationTools
Determines whether the default annotation type will be remembered after creating a sticky note, textbox, or callout.
Valid values:
- TRUE/FALSE
Default value: FALSE
[Settings]AutoLinkAnnToImage
Determines whether to automatically link a text annotation to the corresponding part of the page image. Windows client only.
Valid values:
- TRUE/FALSE
Default value: TRUE
[Settings]AnnotationTokenParsed
Determines whether to substitute tokens in text annotations with their values.
Valid values:
- TRUE/FALSE
Default value: TRUE
[Settings]LinkNewAnnotations
This is the same setting as Link New Annotations in the web client. Does not apply to the Windows client.
Valid values:
- TRUE/FALSE
Default value: TRUE
[HIDDENDIALOGS]ConfirmAnnotDelete
When you try to delete an annotation, this attribute determines whether a dialog box pops up asking if you really want to delete the annotation.
Valid values:
- Integers. 6 hides the dialog box; any other value (including no value) shows the dialog box.
Default behavior: Dialog box appears
Strikethroughs, Underlines, and Highlights:
[Defaults]StrikeUnderColor
Determines the default color for strikethroughs and underlines.
Valid values:
- Manually altering the value of the [Defaults]StrikeUnderColor attribute is not recommended. We recommend configuring the desired color in the Laserfiche web or Windows client, then exporting and importing it to share it between users.
[Settings]RenderHighlightOnColor
Determines the transparency and texture of highlights and redactions. Windows client only.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
[Defaults]HighlightColor
Determines the default color for highlights.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
Sticky Notes
[Defaults]StickyNoteColor
Determines the default sticky note color.
Valid values:
- Manually altering the data for the [Defaults]StickyNoteColor attribute is not recommended. We recommend configuring the desired color in the Laserfiche web or Windows client, then exporting and importing it to share it between users.
[Defaults]StickyNoteHeight
Determines the default sticky note height in pixels. When the user alters the height of a sticky note in the document viewer, their setting is retained for the next sticky note they open in the same session, but not saved in their trustee attributes. It is saved to a user's trustee attributes only if it is manually set by an administrator. This attribute applies to the Windows client only.
Valid values:
- Integers denoting pixels
Default value: 200
[Defaults]StickyNoteWidth
Determines the default sticky note width in pixels. When the user alters the width of a sticky note in the document viewer, their setting is retained for the next sticky note they open in the same session, but not saved in their trustee attributes. It is saved to a user's trustee attributes only if it is manually set by an administrator. This attribute applies to the Windows client only.
Valid values:
- Integers denoting pixels
Default value: 200
Stamps
[Options]StampDirectory
Determines the default folder for importing stamps from. Windows client only.
Valid values:
- A string representing the folder path.
[Settings]StampType
Determines the default stamp type. Windows client only.
Valid values:
- Integers. 0 = Public stamp, 1 = Private stamp, 3 = Quick stamp.
[Settings]RecentStampCount, [Settings]RecentStampColorIndex, [Settings]RecentStampIndex
These attributes store the stamps that the user recently used, with a different value of Index for each stamp. If you want a certain set of recently used stamps to be the default, create a test user, use the stamps in question, then export and import these attributes to your desired users.
Valid values:

[Settings]RecentSingleUseStamp, [Settings]RecentSingleUseStampColor
These attributes remember the user's most recent quick stamp. It applies to the Windows client only.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
[Defaults]StampAnnOpacity, [Defaults]StampAnnRotation
These attributes determine the appearance of stamp annotations.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
Redactions

[Defaults]RedactionColor
Determines the default color used for redactions.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
Other Kinds of Annotations
[Settings]EnableTextboxURLs
If TRUE, automatically hyperlinks URLs that are in text box or callout annotations. Works only for left-to-right text. Windows client only.
Valid values:
- TRUE/FALSE
Default value: FALSE
[Defaults]LineAnnProperty
These determine the default appearance of line annotations. [Settings]LineAnnOpacity is one example.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
[Defaults]PolyfillProperty
These determine the default appearance of polygon annotations. [Defaults]PolyFillColor is one example.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
[Defaults]RectAnnProperty
These attributes determine the default appearance of rectangle annotations. [Settings]RectAnnLineWidth is one example.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
[Defaults]CalloutHeadStyle
This is the same setting that the user can change by right-clicking on a callout annotation, selecting Properties, and choosing a Head Style.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
[Settings]BitmapAnnRotation, [Settings]BitmapAnnOpacity
These determine the appearance of image annotations. Windows client only.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
[Defaults]BoxTextSize
Determines the default size of a text box annotation.
Valid values:
- Integers. Set to 6 to hide dialog box. Delete attribute to show dialog box.
Document Viewer Annotation Pane
[DocFrame]AnnProperty
There are several attributes that begin with "[DocFrame]Ann" and end with the relevant Annotation Pane property. These settings apply to the display of the annotation pane in the Windows client document viewer. For example, [Docframe]AnnListColumns determines the column display in the Annotation Pane. See the [WADocView] or [WebAccess] properties for settings for the web client document viewer.
Valid values:
- Manually altering the value of this attribute is not recommended. We recommend configuring the desired value in the Windows client, then exporting and importing it to share it between users.
