Prompts

The Prompts node of the Options dialog box lets you determine if a variety of confirmation and/or publishing prompts will be shown.

To configure this node

  1. Select Options under Tools in the main menu.
  2. Select the Prompts node under Designer.
  3. Select which prompts should appear when publishing, deleting, resetting, or making changes in Workflow and clear the prompts you do not want to see.
    • Show a confirmation prompt when: Configure general Workflow configuration prompts.
      • Updating a published workflow: Prompt before updating a previously published workflow.
      • Changes to an activity will be discarded: Warn before deleting custom activity configurations.
      • Deleting non-empty toolbox categories: Warn before deleting toolbox categories that contain activities.
      • Deleting toolbox items: Prompt before activities are deleted from the toolbox.
      • Resetting toolbox items: Warn before activities are reset to their default settings.
    • After publishing, prompt to create a starting rule if: If selected, prompts to create starting rules will appear after a workflow has been published.
      • The workflow was new: After publishing a new workflow, prompt to create starting rules. This prompt helps avoid publishing workflows and forgetting to configure appropriate starting rules.
      • The workflow was updated and no starting rules have been configured: Prompt when a previously published workflow is update and starting rules have not been configured.
    • Show a confirmation prompt in the Rule Manager when: These options define which, if any, prompts will appear in the Rule Manager.
      • Deleting a reference to a workflow: Warn before deleting a reference to a workflow in the Rule Manager.
      • Deleting a folder: Warn before deleting a folder in the Rule Manager.
      • Note: Selecting this checkbox will not warn before a workflow instance deletes a folder in Laserfiche Client.

      • Deleting a starting rule: Warn before deleting a starting rule in the Rule Manager.
      • Deleting a published workflow: Warn before deleting a published workflow.
      • Switching modes will clear the undo/redo data: Warn that undo/redo options will be cleared upon switching modes in the Rule Manager.

Note: These prompts help ensure that you do not make any permanent changes accidentally and that you remember to give your workflow a starting rule. When a prompt appears, you will have the option to continue with your decision or to return to the program without making any changes.
