Linking Annotations

A linked annotation is an annotation simultaneously applied to both the image and corresponding text portion of a document. When placed on the image or text, highlights, redactions, strikethroughs, and underlines are automatically linked to their counterpart; for example, annotations applied to the text are automatically applied to the corresponding portion of the image and vise versa. Linked annotations let you quickly annotate the image and text with one action. When linked, you can also quickly delete the image annotation, the text annotation, or both.

Note: The image on which you want to apply the linked annotation must have OCR-generated text.

Tip: Linked annotations are especially useful when redacting information, as you often want to ensure the information is redacted on both the image and the text. If the text associated with the redacted portion of an image is not redacted, users will still be able to find it through a text search.
