Text Extraction and Indexing

One of the primary reasons for storing content in Laserfiche is to ensure the prompt retrieval of information. Laserfiche offers a variety of tools to help you quickly find specific information or particular entries. In order to take full advantage of Laserfiche search types, it is important that you prepare your documents for retrieval in the following ways:

Generate searchable text

• Create Text from Images (OCR)

• Create Text for Electronic Documents

Index text for text searches

• Indexing

  Note: Your Laserfiche repository may be configured to automatically index documents.

Tip: You can search for field values and template names, so assigning template and field information to your documents makes them easier to retrieve.

Other helpful organizational practices include

• Standard naming conventions allow you to search based on entry name.
• Effective folder organization allows you to search within folders.
