Generate Pages from Electronic Documents
You can generate image and text pages from the electronic files associated with electronic documents in one of two ways: PDF electronic documents can have image pages generated natively from the PDF file (this method can retain PDF annotations) or you can generate pages from any type of document (including, but not limited to, PDF files) by processing them with Laserfiche Snapshot.
To create an image and text pages from an electronic file
- From the folder browser, select one or more electronic documents for which you want to create image and text.
- From the Tasks drop-down menu, select Generate Pages.
- In the Generate Pages dialog box, you can configure options for page generation and indexing.
- Under Page Generation, click Options to open the Generate Pages node of the Options dialog box. From here, you can configure settings for generating pages for PDFs and other electronic documents.
- Under Indexing, select the checkbox to index the text Laserfiche Snapshot generates. You can only run text searches on indexed text.
- After configuring your desired settings, click OK to generate image and text pages.
Note: This dialog box will not appear (and pages will be immediately generated) if the Don't show this dialog again option was selected from this dialog box. You can change your settings so this dialog box appears from the Reset: Prompts node of the Options dialog box.
Note: This checkbox is only enabled if automatic text indexing has been turned off. If automatic text indexing is turned on, the text generated by Laserfiche Snapshot is always indexed.
