Document Classes
A document class defines a set of documents that will all be processed in similar ways, which are determined by the stages of processing configured within the document class. When documents are scanned into Quick Fields, they will pass through these stages and be handled accordingly. During the First Page Identification stage, Quick Fields determines whether an image matches the first page identification criteria you have defined for the document class. When a document is assigned to a class, the processes listed under Page Processing will be applied to the designated pages. During the Last Page Identification stage, Quick Fields determines when an image matches the last page criteria you have defined for the document class. The processes listed under Post-Processing will be applied right after the documents are processed or when the documents are sent to Laserfiche.
You can rename the document class to reflect the type of documents it contains: e.g., "Applications" for a document class that contains college application forms. To change the name of the document class, right-click on the current name of the class and select Rename.
Note: The basic installation of Quick Fields supports a single document class per session. To use multiple document classes per session, purchase the Document Classification add-on.
