Selection Mode
Selection mode, indicated by this cursor , allows you to select a region on an image, text, thumbnails, or a template. It is the default cursor mode for Image, Text, and Thumbnail Panes, as well as when another cursor mode has not been specified or is not selected on the toolbar. Some modes will revert back to Selection mode after an action has been completed, such as after placing a stamp or a sticky note on an image.
Note: Selection mode is always used in the Thumbnails Pane. It is also always used when selecting a template in the Metadata Pane.
When the selection mode is active, the following actions apply to each pane.

Note: You can prevent the document viewer from automatically zooming to the selected region by clearing the Zoom to selected region option in the View Options dialog. If this option is cleared, the image will not zoom in when a region is selected, but holding down the CTRL key will allow you to zoom to the selected region.
