The Metadata Pane allows you to view

Displaying the Metadata Pane (Fields, Tags, Links, and Versions)
The field data, tags, links, and the versions associated with a document can be viewed
In most cases, the Metadata Pane will already be open in the Document Viewer, as it is displayed by default. If it has been closed, you can reopen it.
To open the Metadata Pane
- Click Metadata Pane on the toolbar. When selected, the Metadata Pane will appear in its last open location, including the previous (primary or secondary) area and dock status.
Once you have opened the Metadata Pane, you can view a particular type of metadata by clicking the appropriate metadata type at the top of the pane. In addition, Tags, Links, Versions, and Signatures will display a number if metadata of that type exists on the document. For example, if the document has two tags and four versions, the Tags tab will display a 2, and the Versions tab will display a 4.
Tip: You can also display or hide the Metadata Pane using the toolbar. Open the View menu, point to Panes, and select Metadata.
- Click the Pane Options button at the top right of the screen. Options for configuring your Document Viewer panes will be displayed.
- To display the Metadata Pane, select Metadata.
- Optional: If you want to hide certain tabs in the Metadata Pane, clear those options. For instance, to hide the Links tab, clear Links. To display tabs that have been hidden, select them.
- Click Pane Options again to close the pane options.
- Optional: To expand the Metadata Pane so that you have more room to view metadata, press the arrow button (<<). To return it to its original size, press the arrow button (>>) again.
Once you have opened the Metadata Pane, you can view a particular type of metadata by clicking the appropriate icon at the top of the pane. If there is already metadata assigned to the document, a blue dot will be displayed over each metadata type that contains information. For instance, if there is a template or fields assigned to the document, a blue dot will appear over the Fields icon.
Tip: You can also display or hide the Metadata Pane using the toolbar. Open the View menu, point to Panes, and select Metadata.
